Video - Future Nissan cars to roam at night, self recharge

Snapshot: Every Nissan car to be connected to each other, self-aware and autonomous in nature.

Technology is moving at a very rapid pace and its hard to get hold of every single change happening in the field of technology. The automobile industry is not far behind and piggybacking on the pace of technological advancements, our manufacturers are trying their best to uplift our transportation experience. One such manufacturer is Japanese auto major, Nissan Motors.

The 2016 Geneva Motor Show has just been over and Nissan has released a very interesting video articulating what our future could look like. The video takes us on a journey of not-so-distant future, giving us a glimpse of what our relation to cars will be like, and how we will fuel them. And to show us the possibilities, Nissan has assumed that we all will be driving Nissan Leafs.

The most-sold small Electric vehicle, Nissan Leaf is a perfect example of how we will shrug our dependency on the renewable source of energy, though, it will be the most used forms of energy. What Nissan believes is - that a car shouldn't simply be consuming energy, but store and distribute energy too, taking pressure off the grid, atleast from an automobile point of view.

And we couldn't agree more! A car shouldn't only be a consumer, but also a producer and distributor, contributing to the environment. The streets will be filled with wireless charging and while you sleep, your Leaf will autonomously drive itself to an inductive charging parking spot and park itself. Since everything will be connected, they will know where they are.

Once fully charged, it will leave the space, making way for another car to charge, and how would they know they slot, because they are connected. Eventually, everything is connected to everything, making everything awesome. And it's not the end! The car will also supply power to your home, your coffee pot and other energy consumers.

As if your car was not enough, the recycled Leaf's battery will act as a stationary energy storage after they are retired from automotive use, but have enough capacity left for other purposes. Done with coffee in your Leaf powered Pot? Sit in your Leaf, drive to work and instead of parking it on the street, drive directly inside the office! While you are working, your Leaf will be proving energy to your desk and office.

So what you get in the end is, a place without Gas stations, but parks all over with connected cars, homes and offices! Much like a science fiction movie, but awesome! While it may sound too imaginative, we are infusing many such technologies in our automotive world. Vehicle-to-vehicle connectivity, vehicle-to-grid connectivity, mega-fast charging cars and much more are all underway.

Watch the video above and imagine your future!

Till then, check our more Nissan cars here!
