Hennessey Performance is an American tuning house that specializes in modifying sports and super cars from brands like Ferrari, Porsche, Chevrolet, Jeep, Ford, Lexus and many more. And now Hennessey Performance is celebrating its 25 years of existence by announcing the Venom GT Spyder as the world's fastest convertible with the tops of 265.6 miles per hour.
The previous world’s fastest convertible record was made by Bugatti Veyron Super Sport Vitesse with a tops of 254.04 miles per hour, but this record has been easily taken over by the Venom GT Spyder. This world record was set on March 25 and the Venom GT Spyder was driven by the Ford Performance Racing School director Brian Smith hitting a top speed of 265.6 miles per hour.
Surely the interesting part is here, the Venom GT Spyder is power packed with a 7.0-litre biturbo V8 engine that is good for a beastly 1,451 HP and 1,745 Nm of torque. The biturbo V8 is connected to a six-speed manual transmission which enables this supercar to bolt from 0 - 60 mph in less than 2.4 seconds and 0 - 200 mph is achieved in less than 13 seconds. In order to celebrate, the brand will offer just Venom GT Spyder World Record Editions.
Though, not much details has been revealed by the brand, but it is confirmed that each model will be priced from $1.3 million.
