Just after a year of showing itself in a concept form back in 2013 the Husqvarna in all its production glory came out at EICMA 2014. Now Husqy has put up a micro-site on its website for the soon to be launched Husqvarna 701 Supermoto. The striking looking bike arrives with a 690cc single cylinder that produces a tasty power of 67bhp@7500rpm and the torque arrives at an outstanding 68Nm@6000rpm. The 701 Supermoto comes with equipment listing like APTC slipper clutch, ABS brakes, WP suspension, and ride-by-wire throttle with riding modes. With a feather light weight of 145 kg this promises to be a proper hoot to ride.
Back at EICMA 2014 while showcasing the bike, KTM and Husqy Bossman Pierer had said “We believe in these types of motorcycles,” and he said to the big crowd assembled at the EICMA press conference, where he also announced that Husky has an ambitious plan to become the number 3 motorcycle brand in Europe by 2019.
In the teaser video below, which we believe will be the first among a few that will arrive soon, we can see the Husqvarna 701 Supermoto kitted out with some spiked ice tires, for some winter hooligan fun. We reckon there cannot be a better thing to start off with the post lunch Monday dullness!!!
