Remember the Fast and Furious female lead actress..! Yes! I’m talking about, Michelle Rodriguez, pushed the Jaguar F-Type SVR to its top speed with the speedometer indicating 201mph on a closed highway in the Nevada desert. Just to add to your knowledge, this desert is home to the world’s fastest road race the Silver State Classic Challenge.
Jaguar’s fastest production ever, the new Jaguar F-Type SVR was developed by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations to be lighter, quicker, faster and more powerful while remaining useable day-to-day, the F-Type SVR is Jaguar’s ultimate performance vehicle. The F-Type is the first Jaguar to wear the SVR badge and is available in both Coupé and Convertible.
Elaborating the driving experience, Michelle Rodriguez said, “Driving this car was insane! I’ve now broken my personal speed record in the beautiful Jaguar F-Type SVR. Reaching 201mph felt amazing, the car drove really smoothly, all my corrections were minimal, I was super focused, and it really reacted in all the right ways. I don’t think I’d ever go this fast without a professional driver seated next to me, but oh man, it was an incredible feeling.”
Further , she said, adding, “I’ve always wondered what it was like to travel faster than my top speed of 140mph and, outside of the Autobahn, it’s impossible for me to do it safely anywhere else and safety is most important to me. It was refreshing to be able to take myself beyond my limitations, going that fast is a big responsibility but the experience in this car was more graceful than anything I’ve felt before.”
Under the hood, the Jaguar F-Type SVR is power packed with the company's 5.0L supercharged V8 engine dishing out 575 bhp of top power and 700 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed ZF Quickshift automatic transmission that has been recalibrated to reduce shift times and increase torque availability during launch. The power is transferred to all the four wheels via the company's all-wheel-drive system. The F-Type SVR does a 0-100 kmph sprint in just 3.6 seconds, while clocking an electronically limited top speed of 320 kmph.
