The all-new Ford GT has already created a lot of buzz even before its arrival and that's very much evident by the fact that over 10,800 people showed interest in buying the new Ford GT. The yet to be launched GT's booking was opened for a month by Ford Motor Company for a duration of 1 month and out of the 10,800 interests received, 6,506 were fully completed applications.
That's an interesting number considering that only 500 units of the EcoBoost powered Ford GT will be handed out. Opened last month, the application window saw a massive spike in the last 6 days as 32% of the total bookings came from this period. All the 6506 applications are being reviewed by Ford now and the potential owners will be notified in the next 90 days.
Ford asked the applicants to show their creative side to spike up their chances of owning this supercar and the applicants did show their creative sides. While hundreds of registrants submitted videos with their applications, other creative applicants featured children, lighting effects, racing footage, revving engines, garage tours and life stories to present their case strong.
Ford will start delivering the V6 2.0-litre EcoBoost powered supercar by the end of 2016. Ford has presented an hour-long documentary in a five part series to show the inception and production of Ford GT. The legendary GT was built to compete in the 24-hour Le Mans and marked its return with the same series. 3 episodes of the documentary named "The Return" has already been aired on the YouTube.
Here are the details of all the parts in the following schedule:
