Starting this new year for Mercedes has never been difficult, as the company has released a kick off teaser video for the new E-Class (Codenamed – W213) with the Robert Lesnik official Sketch. The attached sketch definitely gives a glimpse of sleek design, but after watching the video the car won’t be as dramatic as it seems in the sketch. Though, with such a sloping roofline, this design sketch would have been more appropriate for a New CLS or a CLE rather than the E-Class.
After seeing so many spyshots, we know the new E-Class will share the design and features of both C-Class and S-Class. Mercedes says that the “emotional design” will be combined with “intelligent high-tech” to embody the company’s latest design philosophy of Sensual Purity. It will be built on the MRA platform and is going to be bigger than the outgoing W212 model, but with some reduced weight.
Talking about the interior, the cabin will share some cues from the S-Class like the dual digital screen and the four central air vents. The base model will get an analog instrument cluster, but most likely not a lot of people will actually go for that. Sharing cues from the S-Class, we can expect the New E to be more luxurious than its predecessor.
This new video released by the company shows much more about the headlight technology, as the company named it as the called “The new E-Class - Coming Home Light (short version). A similar teaser video was released last year with the C-Class.
The world premier will occur on January 11 2016 during the first press preview day of the NAIAS 2016 in Detroit.
