Video - Renault Kwid TVC with Ranbir Kapoor Out

We earlier reported you that Renault has roped in Bollywood sensation Ranbir Kapoor as its brand ambassador, and now the first TVC featuring the actor and Renault cars is out. Ranbir Kapoor is shown driving the yet-to-be-launched Kwid hatchback in the video. Just so you know, Renault Kwid made its global debut on May 20, 2015 in India and it is expected to be launched in festive season in the country. Despite being an entry-level hatchback, it has been designed to look like a crossover with a fairly high ground clearance of 180mm.

The TVC showcases Ranbir driving a variety of Renault vehicles, including the Duster, Lodgy and Kwid. Ranbir was quite estatic to join hands with Renault as he said that he is happy to be associated with a brand which is very young, and has quickly established itself in India, becoming the number one European brand. Sumit Sawhney, CEO and Managing Director, Renault India, was equally overwhelmed at this collaboration as he said that Kapoor ideally portrays a rare blend of talent, class, intelligence and popularity that complements Renault's legacy and brand ethos which hinges on three pillars - vibrant, forward looking and connected to people.

The Kwid hatch is an immensely important product for Renault as for the first time, the company is targeting masses by foraying into small car segment. Renault Kwid would challenge the highly successful Maruti Alto K10 and Hyundai Eon, while coming in a price domain of Rs. 3-4 Lakhs. Moreover, it has over 98 percent of localization and would be manufactured at Renault's Chennai plant. Being based on the all-new CMF-A platform, the Kwid would feature first-in-class 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It would be launched in petrol guise only with a 800cc, 3-pot motor which would develop power around 55bhp. It would be mated to a manual gearbox as standard, while an AMT unit would also be introduced later on as optional.
