In a horrific incident, Valdimir Putin's official driver is killed in a road accident. The President's driver was driving the official presidential BMW when a Mercedes collided head-on, resulting in the on-spot death of the driver. The Mercedes-CLS has been captured in the video, loosing control and hitting the BMW travelling in the opposite lane.
The incident took place in the busy street of Kutuzovsky Avenue, Moscow and as seen in the video, the Mercedes CLS travelling at high speed lost the control of the sedan. Soon after, he hits the presidential BMW 7-Series travelling in the opposite lane and well within the speed limits. While the President's chauffeur died on the spot, the Mercedes driver survived the crash and is hospitalized in a critical condition.
The black BMW of the President was officially registered with the Federation Council, also known as the Russian Senate or Upper Chamber of Parliament. While the name of the deceased driver of the BMW was not named, it's been reported that he had over 40 years of experience as an official driver. The accident caused a huge traffic jam in the area and the clean up operations took several hours to clear.
This is one of its kind and never heard before incident and the police is investigating the actual cause of the accident. We will divulge more details as and when further details arrive. But one shocking thing that came out of this incident is that President car wasn't safe enough for a head-on collision. And this car was not just a convoy vehicle, but the vehicle in which Putin himself travels.
Luckily for him, President Putin has already ordered the newly designed Kortezh Presidential Limousine that will be delivered by the end of 2017. The Kortezh limo is said to be the Russian equivalent of the 'Beast', the official vehicle of the President of the U.S.A (Barack Obama is the present President). It will be a bomb, bullet and gas proof vehicle. It will also get the doors which are 10 times thicker than a regular car and has its own oxygen supply system.
The Kortezh will deliver the first and specially designed armored vehicle to the President and later will launch it to the public by 2018. It will be offered in SUV, limo, sedan and minivan variants.
