The video shows Tata Kite 5 compact sedan taking some test round in Pune. The pre-production compact sedan was spotted in a camouflaged guise ahead of its launch in November. First showcased globally in its almost production-ready form at the Auto Expo 2016, the Kite 5 embodies its new IMPACT design language. This Tata compact sedan will rival with the likes of Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Ford Figo Aspire and the upcoming Volkswagen Ameo.
The Tata Kite 5 is the third offering by the company in a sub-4m sedan segment and measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,647 mm in width, 1,535 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. The exterior profile of the compact sedan has been basically derived from the Tata Tiago with a dumpy boot. The interior in the compact sedan will be sourced from the Tiago hatchback. Though, the compact sedan showcased at the Auto Show was loaded with advanced 5 inch ConnectNext infotainment system.
The Tata Kite 5 will be offered in both petrol diesel options. The petrol unit is a 1.2-litre three cylinder Revotron engine, which is good for 83bhp and 114Nm, while on the other hand, the diesel motor will be 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine that pumps out 140Nm of torque. The engine will be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while there is a possibility that an AMT variant could also be introduced at the launch.
