Hennessey! Yes the name may sound familiar to you. The American car manufacturer, who also does performance tweaking, to make vehicles fast, has been in the news for making the world's fastest production car. And as the tagline goes (Making fast cars faster), Hennessey has tuned a C-7 generation Chevrolet Corvette to an extent, that the video featuring it, is insanely awesome!
In the video labelled ‘1/4 mile testing', a decently modified Chevy Corvette is shown, doing a speed run on a drag strip. The video starts with a loud and sweet grunt and the car disappears on the strip. How fast does she go? Well, it covered a quarter mile in less than 11 seconds, 20 metres in less than 1.8 seconds, reached a top speed of 200 kmph and did a 0-100 kmph in less than 3 seconds. If that isn't fast, we bet nothing is!
And how did John Hennessey managed to do so? Well, he just showcased that, with a handful of careful modifications, a Corvette can do anything. His mods include a 2.3 litre supercharger system, high flow cylinder heads, a HPE700 cam and some ECU tweaks, enabling it to go quite fast indeed.
Speaking of Hennessey Autoworks, they became famous for manufacturing the fastest car on earth, the Hennessey Venom GT, which outstripped Bugatti Veyron as the fastest car. That is an incredible feat to achieve!
