India’s favourite car maker Maruti Suzuki has added another successful product to their portfolio with the Vitara Brezza. Recently the compact SUV has crossed a milestone of 50,000 sales figure in India. The SUV has already received bookings over one lakh units and is one of the top selling SUVs in the country right now. Maruti Suzuki has been able to achieve this great sales figure within 7 months of the compact SUV’s launch.
The Vitara Brezza continued to lead Maruti Suzuki's utility vehicles sales in September 2016. The company registered brilliant 191 percent growth in utility vehicle segment with 18,423 units sold in September against the 6,331 in the same period last year. On the other hand the SUV commands a waiting period of 4-5 months depending upon variants. The costliest variant of the Brezza is the ZDI+ variant with dual colour option and it got substantial number of bookings. According to sources the company is running behind on delivery of around 50,000 units of its first compact SUV.
Maruti officials are saying that the company has optimized the production of cars so that it can deliver their cars in the promised timeframe without compromising on quality. To deliver its another popular car, the Baleno, the company will start to manufacture it in its Gujarat plant and with the increasing demand it is just a matter of time for the company, to start assembling the Brezza in the same plant.
The compact SUV comes with only one engine choice which is India’s favourite 1.3litre Fiat sourced multijet diesel engine. This engine produces 88.5bhp and 200Nm of torque and is further connected to a 5 speed manual transmission. However the SUV lacks an AWD system which would have made the SUV a value for money vehicle.
