Volkswagen Group has appointed Dr. Herbert Diess as company's new Chairman of the Board of Management. Dr. Herbert Diess will be responsible for Group development and research, and will also take on additional Group management roles alongside heading the Vehicle IT, replacing Mr Matthias Muller. As a part of this rejig of the higher managerial level, Volkswagen Group announced that Mr Rupert Stadler, Audi CEO will head Group Sales, while Porsche CEO has been appointed to the Group Board of Management and will oversee the Group production.
Gunnar Kilian has been appointed as the new member of the Group Board of Management for Human Resources who has served as Secretary-General of the Volkswagen Group Works Council until now, replacing Dr. Karlheinz Blessing. In the meantime, Dr. Franciso Javier Garcia Sanz who has been the head of Procurement and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the SEAT brand will be leaving the company and Frank Witter will take charge of company IT.

Apart from that, Volkswagen is planning to organize the group into 6 new business verticals that would include a separate China region. More interestingly, the brand will organize the group according to Volume, Premium and Super Premium, will be introduced later in some time.
