Volkswagen has released online sketches of the ID Vizzion concept that is going to spawn out an interesting futuristic and luxurious sedan with electric powertrain and autonomous driving technology as well. Clearly, Volkswagen is keen to showcase its commitment towards the electric mobility and this new concept comes as part of that. The Volkswagen ID Vizzion concept will be showcased in flesh at the upcoming 2018 Geneva Motor Show in March.
The concept sedan not only boasts a very stylish and premium stance with its coupeish appearance. It also features the German brand’s futuristic design language that we would see in all its upcoming models in next decade. Also, expect it to get loads of advanced high-end technologies and features. Considering the fact that this is going to be an autonomous vehicle, there is no conventional steering wheel, gear shifter or pedals.
Thanks to this less equipment look, the Volkswagen ID Vizzion concept comes with a very neat and clean appearance inside the cabin, while the space on offer too will be great for sure. Volkswagen ID Vizzion concept gets a four seater configuration with the doors designed to offer maximum space for the occupants during entrance and exit from the cabin. Interestingly, there is no traditional infotainment system. In that case, we can hope it will get a gesture and voice command controlled infotainment system with display integrated to the windscreen.
This is the first model in the ID lineup to come without any driver controls. Volkswagen claims, it will get Level 5 Autonomy. On the powertrain front, Volkswagen ID Vizzion concept gets an 111kWh lithium-ion battery pack generating energy for two electric motors, with each fitted to one axle. The electric powertrain churns out 297 bhp of peak power and the car can run at a top speed of 180 kmph. Very impressively, this car is claimed to be capable of running 1,070 km on a single charge.
