Volkswagen India conducted exclusive premiere of the recently unveiled new carlines from the Delhi Auto Expo 2016 for customers in Mumbai, Bangalore & Pune. The company showcased the made for India and made in India Ameo, the 3-door Polo GTI, Tiguan SUV, Passat GTE and the recently launched 21st Century Beetle. A couple of days back, the German automaker announced the commencement of third shift at the Chakan facChecility in Pune to accommodate the production of Ameo, which is launching by next month in the country.
Witnessing an excellent response over the years from customers in these markets, Volkswagen successfully reached out to over 1200 prospective car enthusiasts. Mr. Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said, “We are enthused by the overwhelming response received by our customers through the multiple product showcase and engaging formats across cities. This one of a kind platform, reiterates Volkswagen’s commitment towards India and is driven to create a delightful experience for its existing as well as potential customers, which are the future growth drivers.”

Volkswagen would launch several new vehicles in India in the upcoming fiscal. The Ameo sub-compact sedan would be the first one to be launched, followed by the 190bhp Polo GTI hatch in October. The company has also lined up Tiguan SUV and Passat saloon for the Indian market, and they are expected to be launched in 2017 in India. Volkswagen showcased the Polo GTI, Tiguan SUV, and Passat GTE at the 2016 Auto Expo amidst much fanfare.
