Volkswagen India is on a roll these days as after coming out with the Vento Highline Plus Edition, now they are releasing the Polo Exquisite Edition tailored specifically for our country. Just like with the Vento, this is merely a styling package bringing some cosmetic revisions both inside and out for the Polo which has now gained a trunk garnish and a faux carbon fiber look for the side mirror caps. There’s also a black roof foil which blends in nicely with the rest of the body while the side profile has gained additional mouldings.

Stepping inside the cabin, the Polo Exquisite Edition can be visually distinguished by its special scuff plates and unique floor mats while the added window blinds were specially made for this model and can be detached. There are also fresh seat covers and a carbon fiber-like theme applied onto the center console to boost the model’s appeal. Needless to say, the supermini comes fitted with lots of safety kit like ABS and dual front airbags as standard.

Volkswagen India says all of these goodies come at an “attractive” price, but at this point we don’t know exactly how much the customer has to pay to receive the styling enhancements. It’s available across all VW dealerships in our country since October 9 and can be had with either the 1.2 MPI gasoline engine or the significantly thriftier 1.5 TDI diesel for those who value fuel economy. All customers of the Polo Highline version with the manual gearbox are eligible to receive the upgrade to the Exquisite model.

We remind you VW’s India division issued a recall last week for 389 Polo units that have a handbrake problem. All these cars will receive a fix without any costs for the owner in the near future while the vehicles that haven’t been delivered yet will be analyzed and if necessary will have the issue sorted out before the vehicles are given to their rightful owners.
