Volkswagen launches Polo & Vento Special Edition

German marque, Volkswagen has announced the launch of special editions of the Polo and Vento in the country. Named as Polo Select and Vento Celeste will be available across all Volkswagen showrooms in India. The special edition features are available exclusively in the Highline manual transmission variants of both the product lines and in the Highline DSG variant of the Vento too.

Both, the Polo Select and Vento Celeste come loaded with ABS and dual front airbags. Both the editions get ORVM covers in carbon finish, body side molding in black, and a black roof foil. To make it more upscale, the company is even offering the trunk garnish on the Polo Select and a trunk lip spoiler on the Vento Celeste. Boasting the premium feels with even more prominence, inside it features a high-quality, scratch-resistant dashboards in the Vento Celeste and Polo Select is a carbon finish centre console along with the touchscreen infotainment system in the Vento Celeste includes a sophisticated Blaupunkt radio with navigation, in addition to existing features like steering wheel mounted controls for audio and Bluetooth. Both the hatchback and the sedan come with detachable window blinds and new textile mats, while hatch will also get a 4 scuff plates and seat covers with Volkswagen logo.

Under the hood, the petrol variant hatchback is powered by a 1.2-litre multi-point fuel injection engine, which develops a top power of 73.7bhp at 5400rpm and a peak torque of 110Nm at 3750rpm. It is coupled to a traditional 5-speed manual gearbox in order to maximize performance and fuel efficiency. On the other hand, the diesel variants are powered by an 1.5-litre TDi engine instead that is good for delivering a maximum power output of 88.5bhp at 4200rpm and a peak torque of 230Nm at 2500-3500rpm.

While the Volkswagen Vento comes with a range of 3 engines out of which two are petrol and one diesel units. All these motors churn out the same max power figure of 103.5bhp. The 1.6-litre petrol is a 4-cylinder naturally aspirated unit that offers a peak torque of 153Nm at 3800rpm. The 1.2-litre petrol turbocharged mill that is mated a 7 speed automatic transmission offers 175Nm of torque between 1500 to 1400rpm, and the 1.5-litre diesel mill produces 250 Nm of torque in between 1500 and 2500rpm and is paired to a 7 speed DSG automatic gearbox.
