The German automaker Volkswagen has finally put the price tag on its latest Indian launch, the Polo Allstar. It is to start from Rs 7.51 lakh for the petrol version while the diesel models will start at Rs 9.07 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The Polo AllStar resembles the main Polo to quite some extent. But considering that the price difference between the former and the latter is around Rs 30,000, the AllStar does have a few changes here and there. The exterior changes include redesigned 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, the ‘Allstar’ badge flashing on the B-pillar and sill plate, LED headlights and others.
Interiors include upholstery done up in all black with a contrasting stripe, fog lamps, scuff plates and aluminium pedals and Vento-inspired center armrest at the front and rear AC vents. The car comes in five tasteful colour variants – Reflex Silver, Blue Silk, Toffy Brown, Flash Red and Candy White.
The all new Polo AllStar comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that is also found in the regular Polo. It churns out 75 ps of maximum power and a maximum torque of 110 Nm. The diesel variant houses a 1.5-litre engine that produces 90 ps and 230 Nm of peak torque. Transmission requirements are taken care of by a 5-speed manual transmission.
