Volkswagen India seems to have geared up itself to launch the special edition Polo Allstar that will be called as the Polo Allstar. The special edition was first showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and also made its appearance in December 2015 in order to promote 2016 European Championship football tournament. In April, the Polo Allstar edition was spotted while doing some test rounds on the Indian streets and is expected to make its launch this festive season.
Talking about the features, the Allstar edition will come packed with LED headlights along with headlamp washer, an 'Allstar' badging on the sill plate and the B-pillar, all black interior upholstery, foot well lamp and aluminium pedals. The special edition Polo is expected to available in three exterior colours – Pure White, Blueberry metallic and Sunset Red Metallic.
The Polo special edition in the International market is packed with a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine connected to a 6-speed manual gearbox. While for the Indian market, Volkswagen will most likely offer the new edition of the Polo with 1.5-litre diesel engine that will come paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
It’s not just the Polo Allstar that’s going to make its launch, the German marquee will also in traduced a power full version of the Volkswagen Polo GTI in the country and was also spied recently. The Polo GTI will draw its power from a 1.8-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit that produces an impressive power output of 189 bhp along with a peak torque of 320 Nm. The powertrain will come connected to a 7-speed DSG transmission.
Just to add this to your knowledge, the GTI can bolt from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.7 seconds before hitting the top speed mark of 236 kmph, making the GTI the most powerful hatchback in the country, once launched.
