Recently, we reported that Volkswagen is mulling to bring the Polo facelift with new 1.5- liter TDI engine in India. This is now confirmed now as the upcoming Polo lately got spotted on test runs near Pune. However, it has not been confirmed yet if the company is bringing the new GT TDI with DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) or not. Visually, the new polo has only minor cosmetic revisions and the new diesel powertrain under its hood will be the only major change to the Polo facelift.

The exterior is revised with new hexagonal shaped headlights, horizontally placed multi slats front grille, redesigned front and rear bumpers and a new set of alloy wheels. The cabin will be refreshed with new steering wheel, slightly redone dashboard's center console and other elements styling with new bright instrument console. Other enhancements could include a full colour infotainment display with navigation and reverse camera. Rear entertainment systems may also be on offer.

The GT TSI will continue to be powered with 1.2-litre TSI engine while the new 1.5-litre TDI will serve duty for all diesel variants including the GT TDI, but it will have the power plant in a more powerful 103 BHP tune. The new Polo is expected to reach the Volkswagen outlets by mid 2014.
