The spectators at Beijing Motor Show have been witnessing one after another interesting concepts coming from the German stables. After Mercedes' Concept Coupé SUV and BMW's Vision Future Luxury Concept, Volkswagen has debuted its mid-size Coupé Concept at this year China's biggest Auto show. The new concept is a four-door mid-sized car with a sloping roof like the Audi A7.

At 4,597 mm long, 1,422 mm height and 1,838 mm width, the new midsize Coupé concept is wider than the Passat but is slightly shorter than the Jetta. However, the new Concept looks subtle and more of like a near-production version as compared to the teaser that Volkswagen revealed last week. Elements like a horizontally slatted front-grille, sharp straight going character lines on flanks and hood along with angular shaped tail lamps looks Inspired with Audi's design language.

Power for the concept comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 217 BHP and linked to a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. VW is claiming a 0-100 kmph time of 6.5 seconds with a top whack of 244kmph. Once its production starts, Volkswagen is likely to position it beneath the CC that similarly is a four door sportback version of the Passat sedan. However, it has not been declared when Volkswagen tends to introduce the new Coupe but arguably the company would get a niche market to explore with this new model.
