Volkswagen silently discontinues the Passat

India is not doing very well in the premium car markets. The D-Segment offerings like the Passat and Accord are rather spending their time inside the dealerships instead being on road. Volkswagen has quietly removed their D Segment offering from the market, the Passat, which not surprisingly has gone unnoticed as the car has lost the demands in the market.

Passat has not been sold since past two months. Yes, you read that right! Not a single unit of brand new Passat reached the road in past two months and now the poor sale performance has made Volkswagen to take the step. The Passat grim sale can be blamed on the popular German brands like the Mercedes, which take away most of the customers from other D Segment cars because of the kind of presence they offer and the brand value they come with.

The Passat can see a rentry in the Indian space
