Volkswagen to debut 3 new products at Auto Expo 2016

Volkswagen India announced the unveiling of three new products the Compact Sedan, Tiguan, and the Passat GTE at the 13th edition of the Delhi Auto Expo. The highlight of VW’s stall will be the Compact Sedan, which is reported to be dubbed as VW Ameo when launched. Volkswagen continues its aggressive growth plans for the Indian market with the lineup underpinning an amazing combination of product best in safety features, performance, build quality and most importantly innovative technology.

The World Premier of Volkswagen’s compact sedan will take place at the Auto Expo 2016, which has been especially designed for the Indian market and is manufactured at the Volkswagen owned Chakan facility. This compact sedan based on the Polo’s platform will be powerpacked with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and the 1.5-litre four-cylinder TDI unit and it is expected raise the craze  in the market for such a dynamic segment.

Volkswagen will also showcase the all new Volkswagen Tiguan at the auto show, while the market launch is expected sometime later. The new Tiguan was first showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2016 and is already making its mark in Europe being an undisputed best-selling SUV in its class. The all-new Tiguan is a blend luxury, handling, safety and efficiency, fusing the global attributes of innovation with an an outstanding 4x4 performance.

The third highlight exhibit will be the all-new Passat GTE, which is a plug-in hybrid that comes with a highly efficient 1.4-litre TSI engine paired with an electric motor that will deliver a combined system power of 218 PS with a driving range of over 1,000 km. Apart from maximum fuel efficiency the engine also ensures in terms of great performance and an uncompromised driving pleasure too.

We will also be introducing the New Passat to the Indian market in 2016. Through the showcase of Passat GTE –we have an opportunity to highlight Volkswagen’s environmentally responsible plug-in hybrid technology. Our dynamic lineup comprising the Indian Compact Sedan, Tiguan, and Passat, recently launched 21st Century Beetle is certain to make Volkswagen among the most interesting brands to watch out for at the Delhi Auto Expo, and we look forward to yet another successful edition, at the exposition.”
