Volkswagen Vento with new 1.5L diesel mill and DSG automatic gearbox has been captured sans camouflage two days before its official launch on September 24. We earlier reported you that Volkswagen would launch the new Vento on September 24 with an all new 1.5L diesel motor and automatic transmission, and by these spy-shots, it is confirmed. The new Vento has reached the company dealerships and Team BHP folks have managed to click these exclusive spy images.
The cosmetic changes are quite a few in form of a new brown color and redesigned alloy wheels in the new Vento. On the other hand, inside the cabin, it is boasting an all new steering wheel with mounted audio controls and the DSG gear box lever. The company has de-tuned the existing 1.6L diesel mill and made a smaller 1.5L engine out of it which debuted with the new Polo, couple of months back. For the time being, Volkswagen has been offering the Vento sedan with the 1.6L diesel motor and a 5-speed manual transmission. But, the new Vento would be in-housing the aforementioned 1.5L engine with DSG automatic gearbox, which would make it only the second vehicle in its segment to have an automatic diesel variant, after the Hyundai Verna.
The newly developed 1.5L diesel motor would generate a maximum power of 104 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. Thw power would be transferred to the front wheels of the sedan en-route the newly introduced DSG automatic gearbox. While the company would continue the petrol variants with the existing 1.2L TSI and 1.6L MPI engines which are mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and 5-speed manual gearbox, respectively. Volkswagen dealers have, in fact, commenced the advance bookings for this new DSG diesel variant.
