Volkswagen, the second largest automobile manufacturer around the globe, is not too big in India sales wise. The reason can be the limited portfolio of vehicles, with only Polo and Vento being the mass cars. While Volkswagen gave the Vento sedan a minor facelift last year when they made changes to its diesel engine and added an automatic gearbox, VW is ready with another minor facelift which can be launched in mid-2015.
The 2015 Volkswagen Vento facelift was spotted both in TDI and TSI variants. While the images are limited, one can easily spot the changes to the grille, which is bigger while the headlights are almost similar. While the front bumper is new, the rear bumper can be seen clad with a horizontal strip across the trunk and the exhaust tip is now visible. The interiors are almost similar as seen in the images, though some feature addition are expected.
The side profile of the test models had a different set of alloys for both the models. While on car had alloys from the old Vento (the one which was first launched in India), the other had the more recent alloys from the updated Polo. The engines were already updated last year and an automatic gearbox was also introduced, so no mechanical changes are expected for this facelifted Vento.
With the launch of the updated Hyundai Verna just round the corner and Honda City leading the market segment, it is difficult to predict the future of updated Vento and the launch will tell us better!
