Volkswagen India that has already launched the hot-hatch versions of Polo in the form of GT TSI and GT TDI, is now planning to roll out the performance oriented Vento GT TSI sedan this festive season. Sporting the same 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol mill, the Vento GT TSI will churn out the similar power output as Polo GT TSI, which is about 103bhp along with 175Nm of peak torque.
According to some media reports, Volkswagen is planning to use turbocharged engines in its entire lineup, instead of naturally aspirated ones. And we at least hope this to happen in the case of top-end variants of all its cars. Polo already has turbocharged engines both in the petrol and diesel, Volkswagen Vento might do the same. Also, the company might discontinue the Vento 1.6 petrol model just like they did in the case of Polo.
The Vento GT TSI too is likely to get the same seven-speed DSG gearbox, which also features Polo GT TSI. Powering this turbocharged mill, the Vento GT TSI will be second to the Fiat Linea to become a turbocharged sedan in its segment. In terms of design, the car will remain same, except the GT badging.
