Volvo is coming up with innovative ideas and the Swedish luxury car manufacturer is aiming to enter new segments in order to increase its market stake in the world auto market. One of the most interesting upcoming products from the brand is going to be the XC50 coupe SUV. Volvo is planning to produce it to challenge the BMW X2 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. This coupe SUV will be positioned between XC40 and XC60 upon launch.
The XC50 coupe SUV is likely to be launched in global market sometime in 2020. This is going to be the brand’s first ever coupe SUV and considering the fact that Volvo is targeting to increase its market share in India we can hope to see the XC50 here as well alongside the global markets. Meanwhile, Volvo has trademarked the XC50 nomenclature indicating its seriousness towards the car.
The Volvo XC50 could share styling language and components with the other SUVs from the brand. In that case, we can expect the XC50 to sport Volvo’s signature modern grille, Thor’s Hammer pattern LED headlamps. It will certainly blend style and masculinity in one single package, while inside the cabin there will be loads of advanced technologies and features on offer.
Volvo XC50 would sport a large portrait touchscreen infotainment system. Following the Swedish brand’s strategy to ensure best level of safety for the occupants and pedestrians, XC50 will surely come loaded with high-end safety features. On the powertrain front, it is expected to get hybrid and electric options along with conventional IC engines. So far, the Volvo XC50 coupe SUV is going to be a very exciting model from the brand and it will definitely give the rivals run for money. We hope to learn more about this luxury coupe SUV in coming months.
