The Swedish automaker Volvo will most probably be launching the S60 Polestar in India in the first half of the coming year. The car will be a combination of luxury along with enhanced performance. Polestar was acquired by Volvo in 2015 and ever since then the automaker has been creating performance versions of its regular cars.

The S60 Polestar might come with 1,969cc four-cylinder 2.0-litre engine churning out 367 hp and 470 Nm. This is the updated variant as the previous one came with a 3.0-litre engine with only 345 hp. The new engine will be mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox capable of sending power to all its four wheels instead of the 6-speed one found in the previous model. Other perks include a stiffer suspension, higher intake of air and larger turbo and a more efficient fuel pump.

The company has claimed that acceleration from nil to 100km/h can be achieved in just about 4.7 seconds. Also it can reach an electronically limited speed of 250km/h. It has reduced 15kg from the car’s overall weight for better handling. Weight distribution has been paid attention to quite seriously and distributed properly.

The all new Volvo S60 Polestar is a subtle beauty. It shares its looks with the S60 sedan, hence the resemblance in the name. The Polestar will bear sportier front and rear bumpers, and redesigned front splitter and rear spoiler that can take on increased downforce. It will come with 20-inch wheels and flaunt Polestar badges on the front grille and at the back.

Volvo seems to have been basking in glory for quite sometime now owing to its cars being safe, refined and amazing build quality and plans to expand its dealerships to tier II cities like Lucknow, Pune and Jaipur. Excluding these, the automaker owns 15 dealerships in this country as of now.
