Volvo India has officially launched the petrol variant T6 of its S60 saloon at a sticker price of Rs. 42 lakhs (Ex-showroom, Delhi/ NCR) in the country. Volvo S60 T6, like all the other Volvo models, would be sold as a completely built unit (CBU) in India. It would be available at Volvo dealerships across the country starting today. As T6 petrol is the flagship variant in the entire Volvo S60 range, it comes with all the avant-garde comfort, convenience and safety features.

As for exterior features, it flaunts LED headlamps with daytime running lights. The new saloon rides on 18-inch wheels. The interior cabin is finished in wood and leather with sports seats. Inside the cabin, there is a Adaptive Digital Display, which uses an active TFT (Thin Film Transistor) crystal display to bring the driver personalized information. It comes with three themes to choose from: Elegance, Eco and Performance. Needless to say, the safety features are first-grade like all the other Volvo cars and SUVs. A special mention goes to the upgraded City Safety system, which automatically applies the brakes if the driver fails to react in time when the vehicle in front slows down or stops - or if the car is approaching a stationary vehicle too fast at speeds upto 50kmph.

Tom von Bonsdorff, Managing Director, Volvo Auto India said," India is one of the fastest growing markets for Volvo. An array of recent launches – XC90, V40 Cross Country Petrol, V40 and now S60 T6 Petrol will add a positive thrust to the brand presence in India. The Volvo S60 is a beautifully balanced combination of dynamism, style and comfort. I look forward to further strengthening Volvo car’s presence here. We are happy to bring the new Volvo Retail Experience with our new dealer in Chennai. VAI is confident of expanding its market share and creating more patrons for its brand.” Just so you know, the Swedish automaker also inaugurated a new dealership in Chennai alongside launching the S60 T6 petrol variant.

Mechanically, the new Volvo S60 T6 petrol comes loaded with a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged and supercharged engine with maximum power of 306bhp and 400Nm of peak torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission which transmits the power to the front wheels of the saloon. It crosses the 100kmph barrier from standstill in a mere 5.9 seconds, while clocking a top speed of 230kmph. It delivers a fuel efficiency of 15.6kmpl (ARAI Certified).
