Volvo Auto India has announced the official launch of T6 petrol variant of its S60 saloon on July 3, 2015 in the country. The Volvo S60 T6 would offer all the features of the diesel variant, which is already on sale. Just so you know, It is the Swedish automaker's fourth launch in India this year as it ealier launched the petrol variant of V40 Cross Country, new-generation XC90 and V40 hatchback.
Talking about the features in details, it would have automatic climate control system, a sunroof, leather seats, power-adjustable seats, a digital TFT instrument cluster, active bending headlights ith LED daytime running lights, park assist and a 7-inch infotainment system as standard. For your information, Volvo S60 T6 was sold earlier in India, albeit with the older model of S60. But, the company didn't launch it with the S60 facelift and introduced the diesel trim only. The S60 T6 variant would be sold as Completely Built Unit (CBU) in the country, like all the other company cars. But still, an aggressive pricing is on cards. It would go up against the BMW 328i, which is manufactured locally at BMW's Chennai plant.
Mechanically, it would come loaded with a 2.0L, 4-cylinder direct-injected petrol engine. The engine would deliver a maximum power of 306bhp and peak torque of 400Nm. It would be linked to an 8-speed automatic transmission, which would send power to the front wheels of the saloon. As for acceleration, it does a 0-100kmph in just 5.9 seconds, while topping out in 230kmph. For those asking, the previous-generation Volvo S60 T6 used to come with a 3.0L, 6-cylinder motor which generated 304bhp of power and 440Nm of torque. In addition, it had an all-wheel-drive system as standard.
