Volvo India has launched the V40 Cross Country Petrol version at a sticker price of Rs. 27 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Mumbai) in the country. Being christened as Volvo V40 Cross Country T4, it would in-house a 1.6L turbocharged petrol motor with automatic gearbox. The comfort and convenience features are quite similar to its diesel sibling, and the company has installed almost every possible safety feature in the crossover.
Volvo V40 Cross Country petrol version flaunt active bending bi-xenon headlights with daytime-running lights at the front. Inside the cabin, it gets dual-tone leather upholstery; however, single tone leather interiors are on offer as well. The crossover also boasts TFT screen in the instrument cluster, optional reversing camera, and an eight-speaker music system. It rides on 16-inch alloy wheels, while having some of the best safety features like traction and stability control, driver information system, side impact protection, driver knee airbag and whiplash protection as standard. More importantly, the petrol variant of V40 Cross Country also features Volvo’s City Safe Tech which pre-charges the brakes to act faster in case of an impending collision.
Mechanically, the Volvo V40 Cross Country Petrol is powered by a 1.6L 4-cylinder turbocharged GDTi engine which generates a maximum power of 180bhp and peak torque of 240Nm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, while power is disbursed evenly to all the four wheels via an all-wheel-drive system. Additionally, the crossover SUV also comes with start-stop function.
