Volvo Auto India would officially launch the V90 Cross Country on July 12, 2017 in the country. The company has already been teasing the rugged derivative of the V90 estate on its various social media handles. The Swedish automaker recently held the drive of the V90 Cross Country for media in Coorg. It is going to be the third Cross Country model in Volvo India's product portfolio after V40 Cross Country and S60 Cross Country. Volvo V90 Cross Country is expected to attract a sticker price around Rs. 70 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) post the GST benefits.

Speaking of the V90 Cross Country, it is an estate version of the V90 sedan which is quite popular in European nations. The Cross Country version gets some additional exterior elements which make it even sportier and rugged such as black plastic cladding over the wheel arches, prominent roof rails and skid plates on the front and rear bumpers. It also comes with increased ground clearance, and approach and departure angles. Dimensionally, it a bit shorter than the V90 sedan as it measures 4938mm against V90's length of 5082mm. The Volvo V90 Cross Country would have a boot capacity of 590 litres, which can be further extended to 1526 litres by folding down the rear seats.
The interior cabin of V90 Cross Country would be finished in a dual tone theme, while boasting of a large touchscreen infotainment system as standard. There would be brown leather seats and black dashboard. Under the hood, it would have a 2.0L 4-cylinder diesel engine with maximum power output of 232bhp and peak torque performance of 480Nm. The engine would be linked to an 8-speed automatic transmission, while power being transmitted to all the four wheels via an all-wheel drive system. The SUV would also have four driving modes: Eco, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road. It would be retailed as completely built unit (CBU) in the Indian market and the company intends to achieve an annual sales target of 200 units.
