Volvo launched its widely talked XC40 compact SUV in India just two weeks ago and in one fortnight, the car has received 200 bookings. No wonder, that comes as a successful beginning for the Volvo XC40 compact luxury SUV. Initially, the Swedish automaker introduced the R-Design trim of the SUV and now the Momentum and Inscription trims have been launched as well.

The Volvo XC40 R-Design comes priced at Rs 42.90 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes it a very attractive model. The SUV takes design inspiration from its bigger siblings. The typical Volvo signature styling elements like ‘Thor’s Hammer’ LED headlamps, large black front grille, vertically positioned LED taillight are there. Also, it gets large sporty alloy wheels, integrated roof spoiler, sculpted and muscular looking side profile.
The Volvo XC40 appears stylish and appealing from every angle, not only at exterior, but inside the cabin as well. Power source for the Volvo XC40 R-Design is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 190 bhp of peak power at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque output from 1,750 rpm. Transmission duty is done by an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
