Volvo launches its smallest SUV, XC40 in India at an introductory price of Rs 39.9 lakh (Ex showroom, India). The car made its global debut at the 2018 LA Auto show. To be slotted under the XC60, the XC40 SUV is the first model to be built on Volvo’s new Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform. The car will be offered in one variant only, the ‘R-Design’. The new Volvo XC40 will pounce with the likes of the Mercedes GLABMW X1 and Audi Q3.

Speaking of the exterior, the XC40 SUV gets the signature sunken grille and company’s famous Thor's Hammer headlamps with daylight running lights (DRLs). The clean creases flow all the way from the headlamps to A-Pillar. The car will ride on 18 inch diamond cut alloys, offered as standard, whereas the R-Design badging adds a touch of exception for its buyers. At the rear, the car would flaunt vertical boomerang-shaped LED taillamps with new C-shaped indicator lights. Dimensionally, it measures 4425mm in length, 1910mm in width, and stands 1659mm tall with a wheelbase of 2703mm.
