Volvo Auto India is all set to launch the XC40 T4 in the country in the next few days. As per a report from AutoCar India, the new petrol variant will be priced at Rs 39.90 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in India.
The bookings for the compact SUV will commence shortly while it is the Swedish automaker's just second launch this year in the Indian market after the Volvo XC90 Excellence Lounge Console.
Volvo XC40 T4 petrol will be powered by a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine which will develop the top power of 190bhp and peak torque of 300Nm. The engine will be linked to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Earlier, the XC40 was only available with a 2.0L D4 diesel engine which used to churn out a maximum power output of 190bhp and highest torque performance of 400Nm. However, for the time being, the diesel variant is already sold out and the company might start taking orders for it by the start of 2020 and deliveries may commence by mid of next year.
It is being learned that unlike the Volvo XC40 diesel, the petrol variant will not be am AWD model. Instead, it will be a front-wheel-drive model. It is also being reported that at the time of launch, the petrol engine will be in a BS 4 compliant guise and it will be later upgraded to BS 6 emission levels before the deadline of April 2020.
The Volvo XC40 T4 Petrol features will include paddle shifters, adaptive cruise control, automatic parking, heated seats, wireless phone charging and a hands-free boot-opening function.
