Volvo XC60 has won the prestigious 2018 World Car of the Year (WCOTY) award at the ongoing New York Motor Show. The luxury SUV has already received several prestigious awards in several countries across the world. This Swedish luxury SUV was launched in the Indian market back in December 2017. It comes available at a price tag of Rs. 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Volvo XC60 is available in different petrol and diesel engine options in the global market, while in the Indian market, the brand sells only diesel automatic Inscription variant. It is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder, twin-turbocharged diesel engine paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The engine is capable of churning out 235 bhp of peak power at 4,250 rpm and 480 Nm of peak torque at 1,750 rpm. Power is sent to all the four wheels via the AWD system.
Volvo XC60 sports the contemporary Volvo design and it takes styling inspiration from the bigger sibling XC90. It gets the large radiator grille flanked by sharp headlamps with the automaker’s signature ‘Thor’s Hammer’ LED headlamps. Also, it gets deep character lines, bold-looking large alloy wheels and LED taillights. The overall design of this SUV reflects masculinity blended with eye-catching style.
Inside the cabin, Volvo XC60 offers a very luxurious experience to the occupants. It gets a large portrait touchscreen infotainment system flanked by vertically slated AC vents, a large informative instrument cluster, plush seats, high-quality upholstery materials.
