Volkswagen has released teaser images of its upcoming SUV concept, which is set to be unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show 2016. Although, the new SUV will be unveiled as a concept Beijing, but it is not that far off from being turned into a production model. The hybrid SUV will be Volkswagen’s next big product in the high-end SUV segment and is expected to be the predecessor to the all-new Touareg, that will most like make its global launch next year.
The teaser images shown reveals some extensive use of LED styling details on the face of the car, like the C-shaped LED on the front bumper, LED strip running from the headlamp unit through the length of the grille and at the rear, we are not that sure, but it seems more of an organic LED taillamps. Some of the styling details are the vent on the bonnets and edgy character lines given to SUV concept to reflect a futuristic hybrid façade.
Details of the engine specs are not out yet, but the hybrid SUV will be capable to crank out a combined power output of 376HP and 699Nm of torque. When in all electric mode, it can juice out a range of around 50km. The SUV can bolt from 0 – 100kmph in around six seconds and before reaching a top speed of 223kmph. Volkswagen has stated the interior of the SUV concept will adopt a lounge-style configuration that centres on passengers and with a focus on digitized operation, featuring a curved glass screen and heavily digitalised interior.
