Following the European launch back in the first half of 2016, Volkswagen is all set to continue the legacy with the launch of Tiguan SUV in India on 24th May. The SUV has started arriving at dealerships and was spotted at a dealer's place ahead of its much-awaited launch.

Volkswagen will be offering the Tiguan SUV in two different variants - Comfortline and Highline. The Highline, the top end trim, makes itself noticed with features like push start button, 18-inch alloy wheels, gesture controlled tailgate, reverse parking camera, panoramic sunroof. The frontal scuff plates on this trim are illuminated.

Along with the Highline variant, the base variant of the Volkswagen Tiguan SUV is called the Comfortline trim. The Comfortline is fitted with smaller 17-inch alloy wheels, LED treatment on the headlamps as well as on the tail lights along with DRL (daytime running lights) and the heated front seats are electrically adjustable. The driver's seat is equipped with a Lumbar support as well.

The Volkswagen Tiguan will not be offered in a petrol engine for the Indian market. The SUV gets its power from a 2-litre TDI diesel engine, which will be capable of making a highest power of 147 bhp. The transmission of power is controlled by a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmitter and the power is sent down to the wheels using the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system.

The VW Tiguan is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs 25 lakhs. When launched, it will be competing against the likes of Hyundai Tucson and Honda CR-V.
