Ather Energy, a startup founded by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain, classmates from IIT-Madras has built a scooter that could out-accelerate its petrol counterparts; also it could accelerate 0-60 in just 11 seconds, has a top speed of 75 kmph and weighs 20 % less than current petrol scooters.
