Just a while ago, we reported how Fiat India had organised a nation-wide ‘Free PUC Check-Up’ camp to mark the World Environment Day on 5th June 2014. Adding to the cause is India’s second largest automaker, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd who have also announced a similar PUC check-up camp that will be observed tomorrow. Furthermore, Mahindra will also be distributing saplings to its customers and other stakeholders to commemorate the day and contribute to a greener and cleaner future.
The customer-centric initiative will be organised at Mahindra dealerships’ workshops and will be extended to all passenger as well commercial vehicles. The said initiative is being conducted in association with Society for Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and the Society for Automotive Fitness & Environment (SAFE.)
Under the initiative, Mahindra service personnel will ensure that the vehicles are within emission limits, as per guidelines set by the Regional Transport Office (RTO) and customers can avail the service, free of cost. As a part of this campaign, RTO authorised PUC machines will check the required parameters as per emission standards.
Commenting on the occasion, Sanjoy Gupta, vice president of customer cars, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd said, “Mahindra has always been committed to the cause of sustainable development across its entire value chain. Our products conform to the strictest emission norms and re-affirm our commitment and responsibility towards society and a clean and green tomorrow. The free pollution check-up campaign organised to commemorate the World Environment Day across our entire service network is a modest step to further that vision and offer better value to our customers.”
