The Indian largest automaker has launched another assault on the automobile market by launching the cheapest Automatic in the world. Maruti today launched the Alto K10 at a starting price of Rs 3.06 lakh and going upto Rs 3.56 lakh for the top version. While the AMT version will be available in the version priced at Rs 3.80 lakh. Looking at the prices, the automatic from the Maruti will be the cheapest one.
The new Alto K10 is powered by the same K10 three cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine as in the outgoing version. The engine is a 998cc 4-cylinder unit, generating 67.1bhp power @ 6200rpm and 90Nm of torque @ 500rpm. Transmission duties will be played by a five speed manual unit and will deliver an ARAI certified mileage of 20.92 km/l. The new AMT will be similar to the one on the Celerio and the efficiency will be one notch up. The Alto K10 will also have a CNG variant that returns an impressive 32.26Km/kg.
As for the design, the new Alto K10 is truly new, thanks to the complete design change. The design reminds us of the Alto 800, at least from the back, while the front gets a new headlight and bumper design.
