Yamaha has officially discontinued some of its models like Fazer8, FZ1 and XJ6 from its UK line up. According to the reports, the decision of discontinuing all these models came because of the down going sales figures. All of the above models are even removed from the official UK website of Yamaha. The models like Fazer8, FZ1 and naked XJ6 are no longer listed on Yamaha’s UK website and the stock of the same have exhausted at the dealerships.
While if you are in UK and are looking for semi-faired XJ6 model you might have a chance of finding it at some of the dealers left with its residual stocks. Figures for the first half of 2015 revealed the firm’s net sales were up 65.1 billion yen to 821.1 billion yen, with the motorcycle division accounting for the lion’s share of that. All of the three discontinued models are still the part of company’s European line-up. There is a possibility that the fall in sales of all these models might partly be a result of MT series success. As we can say many of the machines are serving the same segment as for example Fazer8 and MT-09 Tracer both can be said to cater the same sports-touring needs.
