To everyone's surprise, Yamaha has launched its Fazer V2.0 at an on road price of Rs 94305 in Gurgaon. The newer version of Fazer was long time pending, since Yamaha updated its FZS recently and R15 is about to be updated soon for the second time. The recent version of Fazer is fuel injected.
V2.0 is expected to go on sales in Pune from late september but they have already started selling Fazer in I.T and automobile hub of Northern India, Gurgaon. Strangely enough, no fuzz was created for the launch and it was launched in a very secret manner. We don't know what Yamaha was trying to accomplish here.
The new version is more sharp looking and gets an updated half-fairing with restyled twin headlamps and new body decals. The bike will be available in three colours - red dawn, white cloud, and black hawk. Although the fairing sits well with the bike this time.
The engine has largely been untouched with the same 149 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected unit but now comes with all new Yamaha's Blue Core technology. It develops 12.9 bhp @ 8000 rpm and 12.8 Nm of torque @ 6000 rpm and has 5-speed gearbox. 17-inch alloy wheels are used for 100/80 R17 and 140/60 R17 tyres at the front and rear respectively. The bike has a 12-litre fuel tank and the estimated kerb weight is 138 kg.
