Yamaha Motors India inaugurates new plant near Chennai

Yesterday only, Hero Motocorp. Inaugurated their Colombian manufacturing plant and recently Yamaha Motor India has also inaugurated their new manufacturing facility in the suburbs of Chennai. This is the third manufacturing facility of Yamaha Motors India and it is situated at in the Industrial Town of Vallam Vadagal near Chennai.

Current the plant will be producing around 4.5 lakh units annually which is set to be boosted to 1.8 million by the 2018 end. The plant currently employs around 2,000 people and this number will be incremented up to 3800 by the end of 2018 and 40 per cent of the total workers will be women. The plant integrates high level infrastructure and futuristic technologies for zero waste and recycle/reuse of waste water plus maximum use of sunlight.  Yamaha Motors India have invested a huge sum of INR 1,500 crore in the new manufacturing facility.  The plant will be manufacturing Yamaha products like new Saluto 1255, Fascino, Alpha, Ray and Ray Z. The plant is spread across 177 acres and the new manufacturing facility covers an area of 109 acres for Yamaha and 68 acres for vendor partners.
