The latest adventure motorcycle from Yamaha was first introduced at the 2017 EICMA Show as the T7 Tenere Concept. This middleweight adventurer motorcycle was recently spotted testing in Europe and is quick to the production phase.
The new Yamaha MT-07 adventure motorcycle is expectedly in the production ready phase with the final testing phase on the verge of finishing. Despite being spotted covered with black cloth all around to hide overexposure in the premature phase, we could make out that rear section along with the exhaust and the wheels are production ready. However, the instrument cluster looked like a prototype as there weren't much of the plastic bits around the display unit.
The Yamaha MT-07 adventure motorcycle is ridden on a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel. The tyres are sourced from the house of Pirelli (Scorpion MT90). This type of tyre is more off road centric and is also a dual-sport tyre.
The motorcycle is also filled with a number of electronic features as well. These features will keep the middleweight ranked over its competitors in the segment. Under the hood, the motorcycle gets a 689 cc parallel twin engine which can churn out a maximum power of 75 bhp along with a highest torque of 67 Nm. This is the same engine that is seen in the Tracer 700.
Once the production of this adventure motorcycle gets underway and the launch is made official, the motorcycle will be competing with some of the big names in the segment like the KTM 790 Adventure and the Tiger Explorer 800XC.
The Yamaha MT-07 is expected to be officially unveiled in the production ready phase at the upcoming EICMA 2017 or the Intermot 2017. However, the Indian launch is still doubtful as the demand in the segment is meagre.
