The Yamaha R15 V3.0 ABS model is expected to be priced at around Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom). Yamaha Motor India had introduced the 2018 Yamaha R15 V3.0 at the 2018 Auto Expo in India at Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Eventually, Yamaha hiked the prices of the new YZF-R15 V3.0 in India by Rs 2,000.
Yamaha has also introduced the R15 V3.0 MotoGP edition, priced at INR 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) as a top-spec variant. With 15,008 units sold in October, the R15 V3.0 fully-faired bike is the highest-selling in India.
The new safety rules require two-wheelers more than 125cc to have ABS as standard w.e.f 1st April 2019.
The Yamaha R15 V3.0 boasts of a 155cc, liquid-cooled engine, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It churns 19 bhp of peak power and 14.8 Nm of max torque.
The motor will be equipped with (VVA) variable valve actuation technology and it will boast a slipper clutch as standard – both of which are first in its segment.
Yamaha’s India-spec model will feature conventional 41 mm telescopic units with the linkage-type adjustable mono-shock. In Indonesia, the Yamaha R15 V3.0 features USD front forks. It will sport 17-inch light wheels compatible with MRF Revz tubeless tyres.
