News is coming in that the Yamaha Motors India have imported one YBR125M motorcycle in the country for upgrading the YBR125 bike. Yamaha has been selling the YBR series in 110cc and 125cc segment and the sales of these two have been modest at best while the rival products like the Honda Dream series and the Hero HF-Deluxe and Splendor still ruling the sales charts, The new update might help Yamaha to gather more share in the 125cc segment from the segment best Honda CB Shine.
Ymaha should be launching it along with a new 125cc Scooter this year, probably the Nozza Grande125 which has been spied in India. Do not expect a lot of changes to the looks of the Yamaha YBR 125 on sale in India, thougha new set of body graphics might be present when the updated YBR125 is launched in the country. The Present Yamaha YBR 125 uses a 123cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine producing 10.88 PS of power and 10.40 Nm of torque, paired to a 4-speed gearbox. The new YBR 125M is likely to come with a slightly larger 124cc engine, expect the power to increase and so does the torque ratings when the new bike arrives, while the gearbox should remain the same.
The point where the bike is expected to improve the most is the fuel efficiency which should be considerably more than the present YBR125 in the market. model. We reckon, Yamaha should give the new YBR125 a style more on the lines of the European version adding a lot of aggressive lines. While the outgoing YBR 125 is priced at around Rs. 55,000/- (ex-showroom, Delhi); prices are likely to see a marginal hike on the YBR 125M.
