Yamaha has launched the Ray ZR Rally Street Edition scooter in India at a price tag of Rs 57,898 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new scooter comes based on the standard Yamaha Ray ZR that is one of the most successful models from the brand, but there are some unique styling elements.

The new model comes with inspiration from rallies and it is based on the Yamaha Ray ZR Rally Street Edition concept model that was showcased at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. If you look closely, you can find design elements taken from Yamaha MT-09.

In terms of design, the all-new Yamaha Ray ZR Rally Street Edition gets winglets on the headlight apron, sporty body graphics, red trims below the saddle, knuckle guards integrated with handlebars and dual tone body paint scheme. An all-digital instrument cluster gives it a premium look. The Yamaha Ray ZR has been a popular model in the highly competitive Indian scooter market and this special edition will boost the appeal further. There is a 21-litre capacity underseat storage.

Speaking about its powertrain, the scooter will draw energy from the same 113 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. Paired with a CVT, this engine churns out around 7.2 bhp of peak power and 8.1 Nm of peak torque. It runs on 10-inch alloy wheels with braking duty done by a 170 mm front disc brake and rear drum unit. There could be a Combi Braking System (CBS) as well. For suspension duty, it relies on telescopic front forks and rear monoshock absorber.
