Yamaha revealed a new XV950 Racer

A new racer version of XV950 has been revealed by Yamaha as an addition to the present V-twin sport heritage bikes. It’s been 18 months since Yamaha has been working with the world’s best custom bike builders to make Yard Built series of bikes. Marcus Walz’s “El Raton Asesino” bike was the source of inspiration for the new XV950 Racer motorcycle.

XV950 Racer is powered by 942cc air-cooled V-twin engine and the chassis is the same used from previous XV950 range that signifies that the torque and power of this bike remains unaltered at 50bhp and 58.5ft lbs. Some of the changes that can be noticed from previous bikes of the series are the forged aluminium clip-on handlebars that give a better forward leaning position.

The diameter of the new handlebar is reduced that allows sportier handgrips and better switchgear along with smaller brake levers and front brake master cylinder. There has been a change in the position of clip-on handlebars and new rear set footrests as well. . The 22.2mm diameter clip-on handlebars are 156mm further forward and 78mm lower than the XV950 models, while the rear set footrests are 150mm further back and 29mm higher that adds higher ground clearance and racer ‘style’ of the motorcycle is advanced due to these changes.

The new seat cover gives a look of old-style racing bikes. The racer like rest of the series can be considered as a blank canvas from Yamaha for the people who want to experiment in customizations.
