India Yamaha Motor has launched its all new Saluto RX in Indian Two-wheeler market at Rs 46,400 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The company will be targeting young rural buyers who are looking for stylish, affordable and fuel efficient bikes. This new 110cc class street model has the company claim mileage of 82 kmpl with 98 kgs of kerb weight, which is about 22 kgs lighter than its predecessors. The Yamaha Saluto RX is not exactly a successor to the iconic RX brand, although it does uses the "RX" as its suffix. This new bike will rival against the likes of Bajaj CT 100, TVS sport and Hero HF Deluxe.
Powering the bike is a 110cc air-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2 valve, carbureted engine that is capable of producing 7.39 bhp of power at 7,000rpm along with a peak torque of 8.5 Nm at 4,500rpm. Power is transmitted to roads via a four-speed constant mesh gearbox.
Commenting on this latest offering from Company, Roy Kurian, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motor India sales said, " The 110 cc bike segment is by far the most competitive segment of the domestic market. The new Slauto RX will attract the eyeballs of young Indian buyers who prefer comfort, style and mileage that too within an affordable range" .
The bike features a telescopic fork and swing-arm type suspensions at the front and rear, respectively. It rides on 17-inch black alloy wheels with five twin spokes shod. It also has mechanical leading trailing drum brakes that are available as standard. On the other hand, it lacks additional features that are offered by most of the premium level models, such as digitalized instrumental console and easy push button start.
