The new Yamaha Fazer 250 has been spotted testing on the road a number of times and was slated to be launched soon. The company has now hinted that this new fully-faired motorcycle will be launched on August 21 by revealing that it will open a brand new chapter on the said date. Many pundits opine that it is the launch of the Fazer 250 that the company is planning for.
The Yamaha Fazer 250 will be a fully-faired version of the earlier FZ25, which is the bigger sibling of the naked 150 cc FZ. Apart from the fairing itself, other features are very much identical in the Fazer 250 and the FZ25 like the brakes, wheel design, suspension and even the engine.
The all new Yamaha FZ 250 will be powered by a 149 cc single engine which is sourced from the FZ25. It is tuned in to make a maximum power of 21 bhp along with a peak torque of 20 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox unit.
On the outer side, despite being a bigger updated version of the 150 cc Fazer, there are certain differences in the designing. It now comes with split seats. Even the fairing cover is full compared to the quarter fairing of the smaller Fazer.
The Yamaha Fazer 250 will get a slightly higher price tag than the FZ25 and will be rivalling against similar opponents like the Bajaj Pulsar RS150.
